Support for Diné Skate Garden
The Diné Skate Garden Project is a community-led initiative by Diné (Navajo) brand 4KINSHIP that brings the transformative sport of skateboarding to Navajo youth in Two Grey Hills, New Mexico, on the Navajo Nation.
In 2022, 4KINSHIP led the effort to build a skatepark in this remote community. Since its completion, local Diné skateboarder Shawnshine Harrison has hosted free weekly youth skateboarding workshops at the park, providing a safe and consistent space for youth to learn and grow.
We work in partnership with 4KINSHIP to support Shawnshine’s skate lessons, ensuring local youth have equal access to the benefits of skateboarding. This support includes ongoing access to free equipment and free lessons led by Shawnshine.
4KINSHIP is a social impact organization dedicated to empowering Native communities by creating opportunities for connection, creativity, and cultural pride. The Diné Skate Garden Project, as a 4KINSHIP initiative, uses skateboarding as a tool to inspire and uplift Navajo youth by providing access to equipment, safe spaces, and a supportive community.
